01-20-10 New Delhi: The journey of a lifetime begins at the Delhi Safdarjung Railway station where the guests will receive a warm, traditional welcome before the Palace-On-Wheels departs into the night for a week long luxury ride through fascinating Rajasthan.

01-21-10 -Jaipur: The first stop of the Palace-on-Wheels is Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of the world of its time. This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727 A.D. To explore the city, an air conditioned  coach takes you to Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a remarkable five storied building  on the main street of the old city in pink splendor with semi-octagonal and delicate honey combed sandstone windows. This is followed by a visit to Amber Fort where elephant rides is available to climb up the hill. Lunch at a Five

Star Hotel followed by visit to City Palace Museum and Observatory.

01-22-10 Bikaner (Fort, Camel Research Farms):The royal fortified city

with a timeless  appeal Lying in the north of the desert state, the city is dotted with many sand dunes. Bikaner retains the medieval splendor that pervades the city's lifestyle. More popularly called the Camel Country, this city is renowned for the best riding camels in the world .The ship of the desert is an inseparable part of life here, that's why Bikaner

is also famous  in the world for camel safari .

01-23-10- Jaisalmer: In the heart of the Thaar desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisalmer 1 1 56 A.D. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis and mansions with their grand facades. The Nathmalji-ki- haveli, Patwon-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli are fine examples of the stone carver's skill. Shop for fine pattu shawls, mirror work and embroidered articles, wooden boxes, trinkets, silver jewellery and curios. After lunch, Palace On Wheels and  go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam, before sipping a refreshing cup of tea. Enjoy the dinner and the cultural program at a

01-24-10 Jodhpur: Next morning the Palace-on-Wheels is in Jodhpur, a city ringed  by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This is thr second largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 A.D. is known for its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand palaces within Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana are impressive examples of architectural excellence. Near the fort complex lies Jaswant Thada, and a group of royal cenotaphs made of white marble. After lunch at a Palace hotel, return to the Palace-on-Wheels. While in Jodhpur shop for exquisite handicraft articles including the famous breeches, embroidered shoes, metal curios, silverware, paintings and tie dye fabrics.

01-25-10 Chittaurgarh: After lunch on board (Palace On Wheel) you are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and velour; scars of battles lost and won...thrice-besieged, Chittaurgarh Fort is all this and more. Moving legends of honor and pride will echo in your mind as you proceed to Udaipur.

Udaipur : Udaipur, the Lake City, was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of Mewar, after the Sisodia dynasty was driven way by the Mughals in 1559A.D. Perhaps the two most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream-like marble palaces the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichhola. After lunch at a Five Star Hotel, followed by a visit to the City Palace.
01-26-10- Bharatpur / Agra: In
the morning, the Palace on Wheels arrives in Bharatpur, the capital of Maharaja Suraj Mal. After breakfast pay a visit to the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, migratory Water Fowl and other species of birds.
 Agra:
Upon arrival visit the Agra Fort and after lunch visit at the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A pristine monument of undying love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Agra is known for its splendid marble inlay  work like the Pietra Dura work on the Taj, leather goods and

Jewellery.

01-27-10- Delhi: Arrive at Delhi Safdarjung Railway station. Breakfast on board (Palace On Wheel) and let the pleasant memories of the past week linger on your mind for a long, long time. Breakfast 7.30 a.m.Leave Delhi @ 9.30a.m for Haridwar  230 km /5hrs bus journey. Haridwar or 'the Gateway to the Gods' is one of the seven holiest places according to Hinduism, as the Gods are believed to have left their footprints in Haridwar. Attend Ganga Arati at Hari-ki Pauri & Kumbh: Divine Bath 2010.Dinner and overnight Hotel Country Inn.

01-28-10 Rishikesh: H???ke?a a name of Vishnu that means 'lord of the senses. Rishikesh is a holy city for Hindus located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India. After breakfast in the hotel, tour Rishikesh around Lakshman Jhoola. By 1:00 pm leave for Haridwar to visit Mansa Devi Temple. Vedic Maha Hawan by Guruji at 8 p.m .Attend evening Arati at the Ganges. 01-29-10 Neelkanth Mahadev:  Sight Seeing Neelkanth is situated at a height of 1675 m, on a hill above Swarg Ashram; Neelkanth Mahadev is one of the most   reveres temples of Rishikesh. Mythology says that in the ancient times when the ocean was being churned for 'Amrit' (Potion for Immortality), first venom oozed out. Lord Shiva drank the venom at a place which is now called Neelkanth Mahadeo .Neelkanth is just 32 km. from Rishikesh via Barrage and 22 km. via Ram Jhoola. Diner and night Halt at Hotel Ganga Kinare.

02-31-10 Srinagar/Katra: After breakfast drive to Delhi air port -Take flight

to Srinagar -from Srinagar/Katra  to Sanjichhat by Helicopter . On arrival check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

Weight and size restrictions on Luggage: Checked baggage (suitcase):

 

1. Baggage allowance: not more than 2 pieces per passenger

2. The Weight of each suitcase must not exceed 50 pound (If your suitcase is heavier that 50 pounds you will have to pay for extra weight by pound. Under no circumstances you be allowed to take suitcase weight more that 70 pound ).

3 The sum of the 3 dimension (length+ width+ height) of each suitcase must not exceed 107 inches. No dimension should exceed 62 inches.

Hand Luggage:

PLEASE ENSURE THE CARRY -ON BAGS IN THE CABIN DO NOT EXCEED THE DIMENSIONS OF 21Inch's15 Inch's7 INCHES AND A MAXIMUM WEIGHT OF 17 POUNDS.

 

Luggage exceeding in size, the sum of the dimensions (length+ width+ height) in excess of 45 inches, will not be considered as luggage and will have to be checked in.

Following the notice issued by the bureau of civil aviation, security Government  of India ,vide circular 18/2006 dated 29 Sept.2006 .Passenger boarding an AI Aircraft will not be allowed to carry in their hand baggage  or on person liquids ,gel or aerosols. Which including beverages, shampoos, sun tan lotions,creams,tooth paste, hair gels, hair sprays, liquid cosmetics or any other items of similar consistency ,exceeding3.4 oz except medicines, inhalers accompanied by prescriptions and baby food. These items will be carried in one clear transparent re-seal able, one liter size plastic bag and will be subjected to the prescribed screening and security checks.

To ease your journey, we suggest that most items are placed in your checked-in baggage, except items of value and those required on-board the aircraft, are carried in your hand luggage.

 

Baggage Tips:

1. Make sure you know your allowable checked baggage allowance.

2. Don’t pack any valuables in you checked baggage

any item over allowance will be charged as excess baggage.

3. Label your bags correctly with your name and address and removes tags and label from any prior trips.

4. Make sure you know your hand baggage allowance and the latest restrictions on what is allowed to have in your hand baggage.

6 Do not carry packages with unidentified contents on behalf of other people.

Excess Baggage:

In the weight system the excess baggage charge per kilo is 1.5% of the highest normal direct one way economy class fare. These charges will be in effect on the date of issuance of the baggage ticket.

Special charges for certain items:

In case you wish to carry a bag with you which you do not wish to place in the overhead rack, you will have to pay the normal fare for an extra seat, as if you were paying for an additional passenger. This baggage will be subject to security clearance. Tour fares or other rebated fares may not be used for excess baggage charges. Maximum weight of such seat occupying excess baggage should not be more than 75 kilos per seat. Even If such extra set charges are applied, passenger free baggage allowance will not be increased.
